Why Group Therapy?
Adolescents often turn to their friends rather than family members for advice and support. Group therapy offers teens a safe place to share their challenges and struggles as well as their successes. Within a group of their peers, teens are often more willing to talk about their problems, offer feedback, and work toward solutions with creativity, patience, and persistence.
Teens come to rely upon one another's input and take comfort in knowing that they are not alone. Over time, they often develop close relationships that help build competence, confidence and self-esteem. Group therapy also fosters skills such as creative problem solving, healthy social interactions, and more effective communication.

Teen Girl Groups
Groups are a place for girls to come together to share their unique challenges & experiences. Often over time, strong bonds form and the girls become very close and connected. Although the girls come from different schools, communities and backgrounds, they are often astounded about how much they have in common. The experience of sharing their struggles with a group of peers is exceedingly helpful and gives the girls a sense of kinship and connectedness that is not often found in their friendships.
- Thursdays 6-7:30pm (ages 16-19)
Mixed Gender Teen & Young adult Groups
Co-ed groups create a unique experience for teens, allowing them the safety of a group setting and the advantage of having the perspective of multiple genders. These groups focus on the challenges of adolescence, including school pressure and expectations, preparing for college, relationships, sexuality, self-esteem, social skills, family, peers and self confidence. In the Monday and Thursday group members range in age from 14 - 19. The Wednesday is for young adults ages 19-25 yrs.
